Why are designer eyeglasses so popular? It's a luxury to have such a pair. But you can definitely do without. Let's see why people are willing to spend much money on a great looking frame.

I started to need prescription eyeglasses when I was just 9 years old. I abhorred the idea of wearing those big ugly things which were available at optical stores back then.

That was in the 1980's, though, and the styles now are not that bulky and unattractive anymore. As a matter of fact, some of the world's top designers have tossed their hat in the designer eyeglass ring.

Along with that designer presence, we have a need to wear what our idols wear. For instance, in the last election, the glasses that Ms. Palin wore became wildly popular. Every woman in America wanted to wear the same glasses. But being like the stars or famous people isn't the only reason designer eyeglasses are popular.

Designers are able to offer a selection that is larger than the typical eyeglass place. Designer glasses are available widely over the Internet but let's see:

You may also walk into a local store of some sort and buy a pair of glasses right off the rack. But there are very few styles available and almost NO options on fashion at all. All in all, people want to look good and that is what a host of designers sell on a daily basis.

All are renowned and famous for their eclectic, colorful and unique designs. With a pair of eyeglasses from one of these giants of apparel design, you can brag about wearing Prada or Gucci. Imagine your friends envy when you show up to the party wearing glasses made by a designer that is world famous.

That brings us to the next reason that designer glasses and designer reading glasses are so popular; they act as a status symbol and make you the center of attention.

Besides the fact that they look so great, they can also hide your "not so great" facial features while accenting the good ones.

So for a pair of prescription eyeglasses for myopia or reading glasses that look good, cover negative features and accent your positives, designer glasses are the ticket.

A Bit Pricey?

Now the price tag on some of these may be a bit higher than you would think, but isn't it worth it to wear a designer's creation? Now you can look as good as your favorite celebrity or rock star in a flash with a pair of designer eyeglasses.

Though I have not succeeded yet in finding contact lenses I can wear the whole day long, now when I've bought a pair of designer eyeglasses, I am not frustrated anymore about the way I look. I even like it! So it had cost much money but I think it was worth every cent.
